Art that feels like home

Mixed media paintings of places and still lifes that feel familar - sometimes quiet, sometimes playful, always personal.

My work is rooted in observation, memory and the small details that make a space feel lived in.

I move between landscapes, cityscapes, and still lifes following what’s catching my attention at the moment. Some pieces are reflective and grounded; others lean into color, humor and a bit of nostalgia.

I work primarily. In mixed media, layering acrylic, drawing and collage. Old papers, maps, and found materials often make their way into the surface - not to overwhelm the image but to quietly support it.

I like paintings that reveal themselves slowly.

Cityscapes

Paintings inspired by city streets and architectural fragments- spaces shaped by light, structure, and lived experience

Land & Sea

Quiet landscapes that reflect a sense of pause and presence, inviting the viewer into familiar, grounding spaces.

Calm Interiors & Objects

Quiet interiors and objects that focus on everyday objects inhabiting space with calm restraint and subtle emotion

About the Artist

I’m Christy Holmes, a mixed media artist based in the Southeast. My work is inspired by place, memory, and the quiet moments found in everyday life. Through layered surfaces and intuitive mark making, I create paintings that feel familiar, lived in and grounded.

Not everything I paint is serious- some pieces are simply about noticing beauty, color, or a little bit of fun in the everyday
